Joseph “Joe” Turek profile
Joe Turek, CEO and co-owner of MWI received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) in 1979 from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters of Management (MM) from Northwestern University in 1982. He has been involved in manufacturing since he was 15. Joe holds five patents involving microwave telecommunications technologies and has been a registered professional engineer and a member of the IPC and IEEE.
He created a supply chain organization to engage Asian manufacturers in multiple disciplines ranging from custom electronic products to advanced logistics, stocking programs, lean purchasing and warehouse management programs.
His focus includes: electronic engineering, manufacturing, supply chain management, foreign sourcing negotiations, strategic planning, and worldwide logistics. He excels at taking complex technical challenges, breaking them down into controllable parts and solving the problems to allow the implementation of a workable solution.
Joe also has an excellent rapport with customers who appreciate his can-do, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial approach to difficult challenges.
He resides in a western suburb of Chicago.
Bob Duke profile
For more than 35 years, Bob Duke, the co-owner and president of MWI has been involved with printed circuit manufacturing/assembly, electronic distribution and the manufacturer’s representative business. Like his partner, it began with a job as a teenager at West-Tronics. Bob has worked for several printed circuit board manufacturers including: West-Tronics, Basic Electronics, Multicircuits and Viktron Technologies; in roles ranging from vice president of Sales and Marketing to vice president and general manager positions.
He was a district manager while at Hamilton Hallmark (a division of Avnet Electronics) in Chicago, where he gained a great deal of experience in electronic component distribution. Bob founded and was the president of Technical Sales Solutions (TSS), a manufacturer’s representative based in Bloomingdale, Illinois. After merging with Dynamic Technical Sales (DTS) July of 1997, DTS went on to become one of the largest electronic manufacturer’s representatives in the Chicago area.
His experience in component electronics, and printed circuit boards and assemblies and knowledge of supply chain distribution channels linked to Asia is an asset to MWI and its customers.
Bob offers an extreme focus on customer satisfaction honed over the years in his various management roles. He sets himself apart with his consistent focus on his customers and his long term relationships with them.
Bob, his wife and family also reside in the western suburbs of Chicago.
