Injection Molding
Injection molding is the process of making custom plastic parts by injecting molten plastic material into a metal mold. This mold contains a carving or imprint of the desired part. After the molten plastic is injected into the mold, the mold is cooled, the mold is split open and the solidified plastic part is ejected. The process is then repeated. Injection molding is a widely used process for making larger volume custom electronic plastic parts. Blow molding
Blow-molded parts can be made with plastics that provide either insulation or conductive properties. PE is the most widely used plastic in gas lines and cable insulation. Blow-molded PE parts provide strength and insulating properties while enabling shapes that make electrical systems work better. Blow-Molding Process
The formation of a thermo-plastic tube (“parison’) involves extruding molten plastic into a tube that will be used to make the part.
- Two mold halves are then closed around the parison.
- Air is blown into the inside of the parison to expand the molten plastic against the mold surface.
- The plastic is cooled while conforming to the new shape.
- The molded part is removed, separated from excess parison material called flash, and finished. Most finishing steps can be completed in-mold but some involve secondary operations.

Static dissipation is critical to sensitive electronics. Conductivity is needed when handling wafers, disks and assembly materials. Blow molding can meet very high-tech needs and do it less expensively than other methods. - Guards & Cabinets
Blow-molded guards, covers, enclosures and cabinets keep electrical control points, junctions, components, and sub-assemblies off-limits and out of sight. The ability to produce single- or double-wall parts makes blow-molded designs the best. Blow-molded plastics are as tough as steel and cost a lot less.
