MWI assists domestic manufacturing organizations to become value-added final assemblers of parts that are sourced in Asia. The US-based product development, sales and marketing, design and engineering, final assembly, domestic logistics and distribution are controlled in the U.S. But these companies increasingly find the merits of Asian-sourced production of parts, assemblies, and finished products to be competitive. The view is that it’s no longer optional to source from low cost countries (LCC’s), but mandatory to remain competitive and profitable.
The principal areas of customer focus are low-volume, high-mix sourcing and supply of printed circuit boards (PCB’s), printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA’s), Box-build assemblies (and other sub-assembled enclosures),component mounting technology solutions, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, metal and plastic fabricated products, and other labor-intensive customer-driven commercial products. Generally, if it contains a printed circuit board, or if a part touches a circuit board, then it is something to discuss with MWI.
